Ways to Upgrade to Business Class on Air Canada
1. Use Aeroplan Points to upgrade
If you are a member of Aeroplan, you can request an upgrade to Air Canada Signature Class (Business Class) on flights that qualify by using your accrued Aeroplan points.
Go to the Air Canada website and get into your Aeroplan account.
Go to "Manage My Booking" and see if you qualify for an Aeroplan upgrade for your flight.
Use your points to verify the improvement, if it's available.
2. Use Air Canada's "AC Bid Upgrade" to place a bid for an upgrade.
Passengers can bid to upgrade to Business Class on Air Canada using a bidding system.
Go to the Bid Upgrade page of Air Canada and fill in the flight information.
Put down a bid; larger bids give you a better chance.
Before you leave, you will receive an email confirming whether your bid was accepted.
3. Use Cash to Buy an Upgrade
Upgrades can be paid for at the time of booking or at a later time via Air Canada's "Manage My Booking" feature.
Upgrades at the last minute could be offered at the airport counter or during check-in.
4. Upgrade via eUpgrades (for members of Aeroplan Elite Status)
Aeroplan Elite Status members can upgrade from Economy or Premium Economy to Business Class with Air Canada's eUpgrade credits.
Elite members at higher tiers are given preference for available upgrade seats.
Upgrade requests can be made at the airport, online, or during check-in.
5. Upgrades at Airports Same-Day
You can pay a discounted upgrade charge to seek an airport upgrade if Business Class seats are still available.
This is available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be contingent on availability and elite rank.
